How To Choose The Best Vibrator

How to choose the best vibrator

Choose the right vibrator for you.

Find out how to choose the best vibrator to suit you and reach that G-Spot.

If you type the word, ‘vibrator’ into Google, prepare to be amazed at the enormity of choice on offer.  There are literally hundreds of different types so it can be more than a little daunting if you are a newbie

Just remember, that in the final analysis, if you get to like using a vibrator then you will probably end up with one for every day of the week so there is no such thing as a bad choice necessarily.  But it does help to have a little guidance before you take the plunge.

The different types of vibrator

Vibrators can do different things in different locations although they are all broadly based around the premise that they vibrate.  Here are the different types:-

  • Internal – this goes inside the vagina
  • External – is used around the labia and clitoris
  • Combo – is used both internally and externally
  • Anal – goes inside and around the outside of the anus
  • Penis orientated – is used around on the outside of the penis

For many women, the choice of the type of vibrator will depend on where they like to receive their pleasure and which works best for them. Knowing what generic type of vibrator you want will help you narrow down the field. You might not be sure initially which one you will enjoy the most so it could be a little trial and error, however here is some more information to help you decide.

Internal vibrators are inserted into the vagina and work well for women who enjoy penetration and G-spot stimulation.  Internal vibrators are often designed to look exactly like large penises.  External vibrators are quite the opposite and are used on the clitoris and labia for those women that prefer that and they can be used in conjunction with penetration.  External vibrators can look quite different from internal ones and are not often cylindrical but can be broader and flatter in order to cover a wide surface area.

Combos are often known as rabbit vibrators or just rabbits because of their shape, basically cylindrical with two arms which look like rabbit’s ears, one to stimulate the clitoris and the other to hit the G-spot.  Anal vibrators have a base so they don’t get swallowed up and penis vibrators are actually more like vibrating rings, often termed cock rings.

Good vibrations

Perhaps those Beachboys knew a thing or two when they penned that song but once you have decided on type then you need to discuss the vibe.

You can opt for rhythmical patterns of vibration or just something mono but sometimes, you also need to think about which area you want to stimulate so surface area is important too.  Basic vibrators just do what it says on the tin, vibrate.  If you want patterns or pulses so changes of stimulus, you will need to opt for a vibrator with a range of settings.  Just imagine how much fun it will be working out which one is the nicest.  The variation is all part of the excitement particularly if the rhythm is random so you don’t know what’s coming next.

Some vibrators can offer an element of thrust as well as vibrations and some vibrators have more than one motor too, working independently of one another, usually the rabbit vibrators so you can vary the input internally and externally.

Non-negotiable

Pay close attention to the material your vibrator is made from and only use genuine, body-safe materials for your new toy.  Silicone is by far and away the best choice as it is really soft, super easy to clean and safe wherever you choose to use it.  Just remember, with silicone, you can only use water-based lube as any other type will effectively destroy your new vibrator.  A cheaper alternative is ABS plastic, also non-porous like silicone, body-safe and way cheaper.  Avoid anything jelly-like despite its great billing; these are porous and will store bacteria and they are definitely not body-safe.  For eco-warriors, there are even biodegradable options.
